MANILA, Philippines — A Filipino nun is among the many remaining civilians in war-torn Gaza Metropolis, Division of International Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Eduardo de Vega instructed reporters on Wednesday.
The DFA earlier mentioned that northern Gaza or Gaza Metropolis is predicted to be the “major web site for hostilities” amid the Israel and Hamas warfare.
In a briefing, de Vega confused the DFA will assist persuade the remaining Filipinos in Gaza Metropolis to maneuver to safer locations corresponding to Southern Gaza close to the Rafah border crossing.
He added that solely three Filipinos stay within the space – and man, his little one, in addition to the nun.
“The nun, properly she has her calling. Possibly you can provide me recommendation, how do you inform a sister? If she’s saying that is her calling, how will we get her out of there?,” requested de Vega.
“Possibly God is looking on her to remain there. Hopefully she’ll be repatriated and hopefully she’ll settle for it,” he mentioned.
The Philippine authorities earlier raised the Gaza Strip’s disaster alert stage to 4. Which means the evacuation of Filipinos within the space remains to be obligatory.
